I’m Brigid, a 20-something vegetarian originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, now living it up in Los Angeles, California. My roommie is my diabetic, omnivorous husband. I’ve been meat-free since 2005, and in the last two years I have dramatically decreased my dairy and egg consumption as well. I love to cook and bake, so you’ll find plenty of recipes here.

  • Foods I love: chocolate, legumes of all varieties, arugula, curry, radishes, zucchini, all other kinds of squash, naan, mushrooms.
  • Foods I hate and will never include in recipes: olives, raisins, baby corn, pickles.

When not trying to eat healthy, delicious foods, I also enjoy crafting, acting, volunteering, reading, and writing. Here I am:

The Blog

I started this blog to talk about food. I love food. I love eating it, making it, thinking about it, and writing about it. I’m a big fan of other meat-free food bloggers, so I thought I should join in the fun. The goal of this little place is to share recipes, talk about my efforts to be healthy, show how easy it is to eliminate meat and dairy from meals, and give some love to local restaurants that cater to vegetarians. I love feedback, so please leave comments or send me an email.

    Hey Brigid, I love the site. My girlfriend and I are trying the vegetarian for the weekday route (you know its hard to quit all meat in Oklahoma) and its worked now for about four months. I’ll be checking out the website for more recipes and ideas. Thanks!!

    My husband is diabetic as well (Type I). While we aren’t vegetarian, his dietary needs certainly cut down the amount of sugary junks foods at our house.

      Thanks! My husband is type II. It can be a challenge, huh? But it’s amazing what an impact good nutrition can have on a person.
